FMC Club Meeting

October 19, 2026

Attendance: Benoit Deslauriers, Ming Wong, Kailie Khoury, Aiden Khoury, Pauline Kenneally, Colton Robinson, Jamie McKillop, Brad Peters, Dwight Spencer.

Meeting was called to order at 8:10pm.

Ben apologized that this was only the second club meeting of the year.  Wanted to have a meeting at least once every two months.

Club held 6 out of 7 planned events.  A few new people, however attendance was down overall.  Still a few bills left to come in (last venue rental, insurance), however it’s a bit of a financial loss for the year.

Venue rental fee has not increased in years.  Insurance premiums keep going up.  Some additional costs incurred; table purchase, laptop repair.  Should increase entry fees to cover increasing costs and potentially future equipment purchases.

A discussion about insurance was held.

A discussion on the costs of running an event was held.

A discussion on how to get more members/participants was held.

Discussion about holding a promotional event.  Possibly at a parking lot at CFB Gagetown.

Motion by Benoit to increase entry fees to $50.  Seconded by Dwight.  Motion passed.

Question on when the cutoff for canceling an event is.  Said we try to determine whether an event will proceed or not on Thursday.

Discussion on having monthly meetings.  Which day works for (most) everyone?  Do a poll on Facebook?

Organization was good this year.  A lot of people were helping out.  Attendance wasn’t as good.  Need to work on PR/promotion.  Need more meetings.

Comment that information was hard to find.  What should I expect?  What do I need to do?  What do I need to bring?  There’s some information on the club webpage/Facebook.  Should update and revise the website and add more/better information in the Facebook posts.  Dwight to edit and get feedback from Brad before letting the rest of the club know about the updates.

Get feedback from members about their experiences when the started.  What worked?  What issues or questions did they came across?

Discussion on Executive positions.

Discussion on membership fees.  Membership fee is $20.  ARMS has a membership levy of $15.  Should allow people to join FMC, not just the people that attend Autoslalom events.  There are some people that want to join the club not just because of Autoslalom.  Example: Tim Clowater for a race licence.

Discussion about the ARMS AGM.  Who will represent FMC?  No one from ARMS or BAC (the organizing club) have reached out.  Ming will check with the organizing club.

A club report needs to be made.  Kailie will create the report.  Jamie will provide a financial report to her so she include it in the report.

Club AGM.  December is a bad time of the year to hold a meeting.  Should hold the club AGM after the new year.  Should have the club AGM in person somewhere.

Decision to hold club meetings on the second Tuesday of the month.  Next club meeting, November 10 @ 6pm.  Online only.  Kailie to post the event on Facebook.
